Asetica supplies large-format sintered stone slabs, the higher-spec end of the porcelain family, to stonemasons, cabinet makers and builders across Melbourne and VIC. Every slab is 3200 x 1600 mm. 12 mm is the standard benchtop thickness, and most colours also come in 20 mm. You can see full slabs at our South Yarra showroom (walk in Tuesday to Friday), and as a guide slabs start from about $820 per 12 mm slab (Classic range, including GST). These are indicative slab-only prices: your stonemason templates, cuts and installs the benchtop and gives you the final price.
- Looking for porcelain slabs in Melbourne? Asetica's sintered stone, the closest match in our range, is on show at South Yarra, where you can see Taj Mahal Royal in its Victorian polished finish.
- In VIC, Taj Mahal Royal comes in a polished finish. Wild Ferrara is WA only, so it is not supplied in Victoria.
- See full slabs at 14 Wilson Street, South Yarra VIC 3141 (walk in Tuesday to Friday), or order up to 3 free samples, sent the next business day (NSW, VIC and WA).
- Trade only: stonemasons, cabinet makers and builders order the slabs for Victorian projects, and your stonemason quotes the final price.
Is sintered stone the same as a porcelain slab?
They are close relatives: sintered stone is the higher-spec end of the same fired family as porcelain, made from natural minerals with no resin binder, and it is the name Asetica sells its range under. Our porcelain benchtops guide and porcelain benchtops vs sintered stone comparison explain the differences in full.
What sizes and thicknesses do the slabs come in?
Every colour comes in one large format, so most islands and full-height splashbacks can be cut from a single piece with fewer joins.
| Specification | Asetica sintered stone |
|---|---|
| Slab size | 3200 x 1600 mm (5.12 m2 per slab before offcuts) |
| Thickness | 12 mm is the standard benchtop thickness. Most colours also come in 20 mm, on request with minimum quantities. Some colours are 12 mm only and a few, including the three full-body colours, are 20 mm only. |
| Finishes | Matte on most colours. 3D Carved on Breccia Brown, Silver Root Brown, Travertino Pearl, Crema Travertine and Premium Travertino. Taj Mahal Royal comes in a polished finish in VIC. |
| Performance | Water absorption less than 0.05% (ISO 10545-3), so it needs no sealing. Mohs 7, heat resistant to 400 degrees, backed by a 25-year Asetica warranty. |

Which colours suit a Melbourne project?
The collection is available throughout Victoria, with a couple of state differences worth knowing before you specify.
- Taj Mahal Royal (Designer range): soft ivory-beige with gold veining, for kitchen islands and bathrooms. In VIC it is supplied in a polished finish, where NSW and WA receive it in matte. 12 mm only, and on show at South Yarra.
- Loro White (Classic range): an off-white with subtle texture and depth that suits minimalist kitchens and bathrooms, in 12 mm.
- Crema Travertine (Designer range): a soft beige travertine look with linear veining for classic kitchen benchtops and bathroom vanities, in 12 mm.
- Travertino Pearl (Designer range): a travertine look with soft linear veining and a 3D Carved finish you can feel, for benchtops, splashbacks, vanities and feature walls, in 12 mm and 20 mm.
Loro White, Crema Travertine and Travertino Pearl can all be seen in our Melbourne showroom. Wild Ferrara is available in WA only, so it is not supplied for Victorian projects.
Porcelain slabs for Melbourne homes, indoors and out
Sintered stone is non-porous, UV stable and frost resistant, so it holds its colour through a Melbourne summer and does not absorb water through winter. It is used for alfresco benchtops, outdoor kitchens, pool surrounds and facades as well as kitchens and bathrooms.
The South Yarra showroom is a few minutes from Toorak Road and Chapel Street. Because Taj Mahal Royal is polished in Victoria, see it in person if you are choosing between a polished and a matte look.
