Sintered Stone Outdoor Kitchen FAQ's

Still have questions about using our sintered stone range for your outdoor kitchen? You're not alone. Take a look at the most common questions.

Is sintered stone good for outdoor kitchens?

Yes. Sintered stone is one of the best materials for outdoor kitchens. It is heatproof, UV resistant, stainproof, and scratch resistant. Built to handle sun, rain, BBQ heat, and daily use without fading or cracking.

Can sintered stone benchtops handle BBQs and pizza ovens?

Absolutely. Unlike engineered stone or laminate, sintered stone can withstand extreme heat. It won’t scorch or discolour behind gas cooktops, next to BBQs, or near pizza ovens, making it ideal for alfresco cooking.

Will sintered stone fade in the sun?

No. Sintered stone is fully UV resistant. Even under direct Australian sunlight, it will not fade, yellow, or lose its colour, making it perfect for outdoor benchtops and kitchens.

Is sintered stone better than natural stone outdoors?

Yes. Natural stone like marble and granite can stain, etch, or weather outside. Sintered stone has the same luxury look but without the upkeep. No sealing, no fading, no staining.

Do I need to seal sintered stone for outdoor use?

No. Sintered stone is non-porous and does not require sealing. It’s ready to install and use immediately, unlike porous natural stone surfaces.

How do you clean sintered stone in an outdoor kitchen?

Just wipe it with soapy water or a damp cloth. Because it’s stainproof and non-porous, spills like wine, oil, or sauces don’t soak in, they wipe away instantly.

What thickness of sintered stone is best for outdoor kitchens?

Outdoor kitchens typically use 12mm or 20mm slabs. Both are strong and durable, with 20mm often chosen for heavier duty BBQ areas and thicker benchtop profiles.
