1. Modern industrial kitchen benchtop design.

Modern industrial kitchen design is perfect for those looking to create a real mood in their home. Typically featuring darker colours, paired with polished concrete floors, matte finishes and moody textures.

But is this the right design for you?

Most industrial kitchen benchtop designs offer minimalism where the kitchen benchtop and splashback are the focal point of the space. If you're looking for a space that has a luxe look and feel, this might be the style for you.

The above image featuring our Ardesia Nero blend modern design with some contemporary finishes, like stainless steele fixtures and timber flooring, giving a nice blend of sophistication, while allowing natural light to flow to open up the space.

For a little more traditional modern industrial, our Tambora was used here, where it perfectly compliments the surrounding space with rich textures and matte walls that flows through to the living and dining areas for a consistent flow.

2. Minimal Kitchen Benchtop Design

For those on more of a budget, minimal kitchen benchtop design could be just right for you, but what does "minimal" mean and how can it save me money, you ask?

Did you know that a simple benchtop edge profile change can wipe hundreds of dollars from your fabrication and installation costs?

Featured: Marvel Gold

Consider this Marvel Gold 12mm benchtop above, notice anything different? If you said it doesn't have any edge profile, you'd be exactly right. This exposed edge not only means a quick fabrication process and installation turnaround, it also means less cost.

Why? Because as most fabricators charge for edge profiles and polishing, it removes most of these associated costs, where there no requirement for extra material to create the edge profile PLUS it's a quick and basic edge polish.

This could be the different between an ENTIRE extra slab or material, depending on how many square meters of edging you would need if you chose a 20mm, 40mm or even 60mm mitred edge profile.

This is also a great way to add in some modern kitchen benchtop styling into the mix in a subtle way.

3. Natural stone benchtop look, without the natural stone pitfalls and price tag

Natural stone benchtops are hot in Perth and Sydney right now, but to the untrained they present a whole host of issues post installation.

  • Most natural stones require ongoing sealing
  • Pitting
  • Staining
  • Low heat resistance
  • Chipping due to the soft surface
  • Cracking if not properly maintained
  • Edges popping over time with building movement
  • They can be VERY expensive depending on the style (IE Calacatta, Taj Mahal and quartzite styles for example)

So how do you get all the beauty of natural stone, without the natural stone price tag?

 4. Pairing kitchen benchtop and splashback designs to create a feature statement.

Many people will choose to use stone benchtops paired with a tile, often times due to cost, but also due to the heat resistance of porcelain tiles, especially when paired with a gas burner that requires a 200mm distance from the burner.

But what if we want to do something a little more special, to create a true kitchen design statement and keep a consistent flow to the space, without having to worry about gas cooktop design distances?

The choice is obviously, sintered stone of course.

Not only do you not have to worry about extending your backbench to allow for the legal 200mm clearance, with book matching designs, you can create serious wow factor.

Our sintered stone designs are:

  • Heat resistant
  • Stain resistant
  • Scratch resistant
  • Splatter resistant
  • 12mm and 20mm thick
  • Are able to be fabricated by your stonemason
  • Installed at the same time as benchtops, unlike glass.
  • Just as beautiful as natural stone, without the price tag and pitfalls.
